Housing

According to Tunghai University regulations, CLC students who wish to live in campus dormitories must wait until Tunghai undergraduates finish their dorm applications. Only if there are rooms available after regular student registration will they be given to foreign students. After receiving a Certificate of Study upon registration at CLC, students can go to the dormitory office to apply for a room. Exchange students are considered regular Tunghai students and are guaranteed university housing.

Dorm rooms are shared by approximately four to five students; there are no singles. The boarding fee for older dormitories is NT $6,300 per semester, while for newer ones it is NT $8,300. For students living on campus during the summer, there is a weekly boarding fee of NT $380. Dorms have public restrooms, study rooms, washing machines, but no kitchens. Since there are usually few dorm rooms available after regular Tunghai student registration, most CLC students choose to rent an apartment or studio close to campus. There are plenty of affordable rooms within the vicinity of Tunghai, and CLC can provide information and assistance in finding such housing so students can settle in as quickly as possible.
